Fear

I have a two day stress test next week and am afraid.  Can I have a heart attack during the test?  I have tremendous pain when I climb even two flights of stairs!

This discussion is related to Highly questionable use of the Persantine/Thallium stress test in this patient?.

The stress test is closely monitored by a doctor and the tech.  Your vital signs will show any stress or you can call a halt to the test if you are unable to continue.

If you experience pain with very little exertion, the doctor may forgo the exertion and inject a medium into your vessels an observe reaction for diagnosis.  You won't need to exert yourself.
