dilated left ventricle

my fathers result in his 2d echo was dilated left venticle with multi-segmental wall motion abnormalities and severely depressed overall systolic function

To give you some insight, there will be wall motion abnormality when there has been damage to the heart cells...usually from a heart attack.  Systolic function is the heart's pumping phase, and heart wall movement limits the heart's ability to adequately supply oxygenated blood to meet the systems' demand when severe.

Thanks for sharing your father's experience.  I was in the same medical condition 6 years ago and currently vascular system appears normal according to tests, etc.
