I'm 19...I don't do drugs...When I lay down i feel my heart pounding, it seems to fast and strong even though I am relaxed. I'm not under a lot of stress. It seems like I can feel my heart beat all the time, what can I do? It is worse when I lay down...I have a hard time going to sleep.The doctor said my heart is fine!!! I'm still waiting for my chest x-rays and my blood work.

When people have heart problems, it is a common thing for them to be more 'tuned in' to
their hearts and feel every beat. I found I used to sit and listen to it and feel it beating
which caused more problems because if I thought I sensed a missed beat I would panic
and then feel my heart pounding harder/faster. I started to say 'oh just ignore it' in my
mind and force myself to think about something else. Just like hearing a clock in a room,
the brain eventually starts to ignore it. It takes a long time though but it's fear which
causes it in most people.
it's me again you may not be getting enough oxygen to your heart that is what they told me but please do the breathing excersises take long deep breaths in through your nose and expell out your mouth.and relax i hope this helps
HI I have had this pounding while i was in the hospital my heart was pounding hard all day i kept telling them that i didn't feel well but i tried to not think about it my bf got off work and he came in he stayed with me the whole time but we laid down to take a nap and i started hearing my heart in my head it was pounding really hard then it started beating faster and faster my heart was beating 280bpm to the point that i had a code called they brought the paddles in they treated me with nitro and i was breathing threw my nose and out threw my mouth. try some breathing in threw your nose and out threw your mouth. do you have any nitro if you do try taking one and do the breathing excerises and see if that helps you.
