Ken has answered you quite well, but to further to his explanation, if your heart rate is too high your heart is not getting enough "rest" in between beats. What he has also told you is right. Ask your doctor what the causes are in your case and what would best suite your needs as far as lifestyle changes and medications go. Take care, Ally
Q: What is a heart that is not resting,, what causes it, is it dangerous, can it be fixed
......If your heart rate is higher than 100 bpm sustained, it can be a serious medical condition. When I was in heart failure mode, my heart rate was about 115 bpm. With heart failure, the system is not getting sufficient oxygenated blood normally with a heart rate below 100 so the heart pumps faster to make up for the lower than normal heart stroke.
There are several reasons for a heart not to rest. It can be a poor blood count that fails to provide sufficient oxygen to heart cells causing hypoxia, etc.
You should contact your doctor to determine the underlying cause, and yes almost always the condition can be successfully treated.
Thanks for your question, and if you have any further questions or comments you are invited to respond. Take care,
Ken
