Hello,
I am a 31 year old woman. I have suffered for years with chronic migraines/fibromyalgia/sleep disorder.
My Dr. has had me take my BP at home because I usually get very nervous in the doctors office and it tends to be high.
Lately when I am taking it...it averages around 128/90...is this cause for concern? I am very sensitive to meds so it is scary for me to try any new meds. I am not currently on any meds. I eat healthy...all organic, mostly vegetarian beans/rice, etc...no pancakes/cereal/donoughts/french fries/soda, etc. It is hard for me to exercise more than a small walk a day due to my physical pain from fibromyalgia, but I try to get a daily walk.
My weight has always been around 155lbs (I am 5'6")...except for a short time in my early 20s when I had an eating disorder and was 115lbs. My weight is now between 165-170lbs which I don't feel happy about yet can't seem to lose even though I try. May have some connection to my fibro. symptoms being so severe.
I was just wondering if my BP is something I should worry about? I am worried already and tend to do so which doesn't really help. I tend to get high BP as soon as I see a blood pressure cuff...plus the one I have you have to pump up with one arm and it is really hard for me to pump so I wonder if it raises my BP just pumping it. If I don't know someone is going to take it.....for example, at the dentist office they never took my BP before so I wasn't expecting it and wasn't worried. And the reading there was 117/73!!!!! I even had them give me a copy so I could show my regular Dr.
Anyways...just wanted to ask if I should be worried?
Thanks so much,
C
