17 year old guy and might have an arrhythmia..

So for the past ... I don't know.. two, three years i have been feeling this weird thing with my heart. I don't know if it is an arrhythmia or not but is getting scary. it feels like my heart just stops for a couple seconds that jumps back on at an extremely fast pace, and it has recently been making me cough from being out of breath when it beats fast after it feeling like it stopped. i brought it up to my mother twice and she thinks i'm joking or something but its to the point were its a concern to me. i just want to know what all of you think about this and what all of you think i should do.
