Hi,
I have been living with MVP for about 25 years and I know the feeling. I have been controlling it with beta blockers for years. I also had very bad migraines and after living with the bad headaches every day of my life for the last
30 years I finally got a break. I was discovered to have an aneurysm when the cardiologist was doing an echo on my vales and he wanted my blood pressure down around 125/80. He put me on norvasc and I rarely have a headache at all now. What a blessing. All along my blood pressure was causing those bad headaches. I hope you see a doctor soon and have your blood pressure checked. Mine ran around 140/90 before the norvasc. Not too bad but bad enough to make my life miserable with headaches. MVP is scary but very rarely fatal. Millions have it. You need antibiotics before any dental work to keep infection from the MV.
Good luck

If mitral valve prolapse reduces significantly your heart's output of blood/oxygen, there can be symptoms that you express because with MVP, blood that should go into circulation back flows into the upper chamber.
Yes, you have heart palpitations indicated by your feeling of your heartbeat, that can be exacerbated by smoking, caffeine and stress.
