Would you do a right heart cath for pulmonary hypertension?

My pulmonologist and cardiologist have me on oxygen 24/7.  Though I had an echo, the cardiologist said he would only do right heart cath if pulmonologist insists. Pulmonologists DOES want me to do right heart cath.

Chest x ray is okay.

Given that echo looked okay, would you do the right heart cath?

Thanks.

It depends on what your pulmonologist will do with the result. If he "just wants to know" without offering treatment plans depending on the result of the cath, I probably would not do it.
If he however has some treatment plans depending on the cath outcome, it might be worthwhile. I would advise you that you discuss with him your reluctance, and ask what he hopes to gain from the cath.
