The only person who can answer this question is a physician. Call your doctor's office. The answering service should know who the doctor is on call and should get back to you ASAP.
Why did you run out of meds before 30 days? I would go to your pharmacy and explain the situation. They should give you enough pills to last you the 3 days until your able to get your refill. When you get the refill they will minus the pills they gave you for the 3 days. Most pharmacies do this in an emergency like this, except for narcotics. Then call your doc to explain why you ran out of the pills so he can advise you so it does not happen again.
I agree, get your pharmacist to give you emergency cover for 3 days. You don't want that stent to block up.
I think what she means is the insurance will not cover it for another 3 days. I agree with Ed, the pharmacy can work with you to get you by the days.
I don't quite understand what you mean about ins may not cover the 3 days. She said her meds were for 30 days and ran out. Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds like she ran out before the 30 days, otherwise she would not have a problem getting the refill. And yes like in my previous post the pharmacy will work with her. If you agree with ed34 then I guess you should have the courtesy to agree with me also. Just my opinion.
Thank you all. 30 days were up and insurance was slow to pick up. Other meds were no problem but Plavix is $6.50 each and adds up quickly. Doctors office supplied Plavix samples for 3 days so problem averted. Appreciate all the advice. Great group!
Plavix is so important that you can't miss three days? I've been on 75mcg for 14 months and occasionally think I missed a day or failed to mark it on my chart. I should get serious?
