Sorry to hear of your issue, your question alone is a very sad one. I think Ken had some valid points to make. I don't think there is anything that says an infant will only survive a set amount of time, instead the pacemaker will help your child become stronger and have an opportunity to take advantage of the progress being made today. I would not think in terms of how long, rather I would do whatever I could to help preserve my child's life. If that meant a pacemaker than so be it.
I wish you the best in your difficult situation.

go with what ed34 said and also keep talking with the drs kenkeith is not god so he doesnt know the child or the other factors with the child. my prayers are out for you
What a pacemaker does is to stablize heartbeats or it can be the kind that only becomes active if there is an irregular heartbeat. Your infant will survive and when older there may be an operation or some intervention to correct a problem that apparently exists. There is much medical help available, and you shouldn't think in terms of survival time.
Until the day God has set aside for you. A pacemaker will ensure your heart works to the correct rhythm and rate and you will live to your natural age of death. It is a fix. So dont start worrying about that because you will get stressed and become ill again. I wish you a good long and healthy life.
