i am sooo sorry for the extreamly late replay !! one year almost crazy huh , any way for the vsd it was small so i outgrew it , but i actually found out that the reason for my fatige is that i have regurgitation in my tricusped valve and i may require surgery in a few years .... how about you ?? are you doing well ?
Hey there! Sorry for just now getting back with you. Yes - to go 22 years without it ever being detected - how crazy is that!? It was discovered by accident. I had gone to have my wedding dress fiitted, became sick, and passed out. I went to the doctor and they ran an EKG -- and there it was! They don't think the passing out is related to the heart defect at all. I also had another defect, besides the l-trans, called Cor Triatriatum. It's another one that is really rare and I had surgery to repair it about 6 months ago - and am doing great! Did you have to have surgery for the hole in your heart?
thank you very much for you help and kind response ... I am 17 and i knew about my condition since i was a little girl .. We went to loads of doctor and i had a hole in my heart ,..and ltgv .... So its nothing new or anything .... I think every case is diff. U know ... how could somthing like that be unseen for 22 years ??? And if i may ask how did u find out and why ... Did u go to the cardiologest for some palps or chest pain .. Or by chance ... I am sorry for asking a lot but this is intresting to me .. Cause this is the first time ever i meet someone (kind off) who have ltgv :)
Hi Blackrose93!
I am 23 years old and was diagnosed with LTGA about a year ago. It was extremely scary at first and you can read lots of nasty things on the internet. However, I have great doctors who explained to me in easier to understand terms. LTGA does not require surgery, and typically their are not any complications. Sometimes, late in life a pacemaker may be required due to the hearts design, but that is about the worst case scenario. Medical technology is improving daily - and by the time i get to that point - if I ever do, who knows what medicine will be like then. Rely on your cardiologist - they are the experts - not the internet. If I relied soley on what I read, I would live everyday in fear. Hope this helps - I know what you're going thru!
