Pressure in the chest

I am 55 and weighing 215 lbs.  My physical condition is quite good.  In the past six weeks, I have discovered that I have a shortness of Breath when I run, sometimes a sensation of pressure in my chest, and pains in my left arm.  If I rest, these symptoms go away.  At the moment I am not taking any medications and only vitamins.

No need to wait to go to the doctor......better safe than sorry.  You level of fitness is not always the best rule.  Again, at "worst" you waste some time at the doc finding out you're okay.  At best, you get taken care of and either catch a problem early on before something bad happens.  Best of luck - don't delay!

The symptoms that you are describing are "classic" angina symptoms.  You may want to go to your doctor and get a referral for a cardiologist.
