Prickliong feeling when exercising

I am a 43 year old make and I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and sleep apnea.

For the past few weeks I have been experiencing an intermittent "prickly" feeling in the skin of my upper chest and sometimes arms. It is  not usually related to physical exertion but came on this evening when I went for a walk up a steep 400 foot hill. Half way up l developed the prickly feeling and almost passed out from the fumes of cars passing by. It was quite a cold evening - whether that is relevant I don't know.

It was pretty scary. On top of this I have recently suffered a suspected retinal haemorrage in my eye.

I have put the question in this forum as I wonder whether these symptoms are signs of an impending heart attack.  As a precaution I got my doctor to take my blood pressure and sound my heart. All OK. Equally, a battery of blood tests showed no cause for concern.

Googling this,  it seems nerves could be the cause. Do I need to concern myself further over this?

There are some eye conditions that are connected to vascular events.  Look up Giant Cell Arteritis/Temporal arteritis.  Do you have WPW Heart Syndrome?  There is a condition related to that called Leder's or something like that.  Have you checked the Ehlers-Danlos website?  I hope your eye problem was just "suspected" and not actual.  An endocrinologist told me I might have Ehlers-Danlos, but my primary doc just rolled his eyes.  I wish I had a definitive answer. What specialty of doctor diagnosed you? I have sent a couple of questions to the "Ask the Experts" of MedHelp in urology and pulmonology.  They charge a small fee -- I think one was $22, but it was well worth the excellent answer I rec'd.  They email you the answer.  I think there are a couple of very good resources in cardiology in the "Ask Expert" from maybe Cleveland Clinic or somewhere like that.  Good luck!

Thanks minmtn. I have a feeling it is not the condition you mention as the retinal haemmorage problems first occurred when I was in my teens.

I will have to wait a bit longer to investigate further as my doctor is  sick today and my appointment was cancelled.!
