Return of syptoms

I had my Mitral Valve Repair one Year ago along with 1 bypass.  The symptoms I had before have returned I am tired all the time and my ankles are swelling. I am also dealing with short term memory loss.  Am I facing a re do on the Mitral Valve to perhaps replace it this time?  When I tell family the symptoms have returned they tell me I am too self obsorbed and I need to stop worrying about myself.  I am really confused and not feeling well at all. What should I do?

Well, they should give you a reason for your symptoms and swelling, tell them if they cannot take you seriously you will complain and seek advice elsewhere. Some Doctors seem to think you make things up. Just because an echo (which I assume they have done to confirm things) looks ok, it doesn't mean there isn't another problem. There are hundreds of medications which can lead to ankle swelling as side effects, and statins in some patients have been shown to produce short term memory problems. What medications are you currently taking?
