I'd be glad to share the web address for the facility I used in Bonita Springs, FL. It is an American Cardiologist - he's been before U.S. Congress, invited to Dubai, written all kinds of papers. My blood was drawn in his office - like when you get a blood test from the arm. It was then immediately flown to Israel - the courier was waiting to take the box to the airport. Stem Cells were replicated...23 Million. Of that 23 million 80% was specifically "heart" stem cells. The other 20% were what I would call "rogue" stems cells; just put into the vascular system to go where they feel needed i.e. might help improve leg circulation or other needed areas. These 23 million stem cells arrived in the Dominican Republic. Immediately taken to the hospital. These stem cells were in 4 vials that were injected into my heart tissue via angiogram. It is awesome....no babies died - no rejection - all duplicated from my OWN stem cells.
since Jo first mentioned this, I'd thought it was a fascinating thing, and ended up watching a few video presentations. Apparently, they just get the stem cells and inject them into a coronary artery. I'd suppose that they hope/expect some cells stick there in the heart and then do their magic. The cells can be gotten from such places as the marrow (naturally, because of the hematopoeitic stem cells used in blood cancer therapy), but also from fat or muscle areas.
There is a presentation that was given at Hypertension2008 in Berlin this past summer, on the same topic, which stated that this approach is used more post-MI than in HF. They had some dramatic results in that setting, too.
Good luck to you, Jo. Keep us updated on any more good news :)
Well, I'm glad you read my post today. It is good that you are feeling better and I hope that continues. Meanwhile, I am on a quest to let others know there can be other options then just having to give up and wait....Thank you and a Happy & Healthy New Year to you and everyone that needs help!!
You can start you Journal from your Profile page, that works like a blog, Medhelp has lots of new things, but I don’t know about life chat. You can ask them. Also there is another heart board “congestive heart failure”.
I feel very good and not too often visit here anymore, like other people used to post here they are too well or dead.:( .. But I am sure you and your story can be great inspiration for people in the same situation! Best wishes!
Take care!
