Should I be concerned?

I'm a 52 yr. old female with 3 leaky heart valves, high blood pressure, a heart murmur and some heart flutters.  I have headaches almost every day.

At what point should I go to the doctor's and have my heart checked for possible heart attack?  Or for a stress test?

Cardiologists should have your high blood pressure under control with medication because this condition will worsen your heart even further. In your situation you should have another echocardiogram to see if your valves have worsened. It could be that you have just had one and you are telling us a very recent diagnosis. If that is the case and medication is not working, you may want to consider discussing the possibility of valve replacements. I dont think you are looking at heart attack because this isn't a problem caused by your coronary arteries. I think your condition warrants urgent investigation and a plan put together by your cardiologist to give you a better quality of life. Headaches can be a result of either high or low blood pressure and this should be resolved first.

I'm guessing that you have already had an echocardiogram that diagnosed the problem.  If not, I'd sure do that at once.  Have you been told to what degree your heart valves are leaking?  Is your heart enlarged?  Certainly, a stress test would provide more information.  Keep us informed.
