Dizziness while on Nitro Patch

My husband has been dizzy last three days, he has just started on a nitro patch 0.5 about one week ago and takes three bp meds; atenonol 25 mg, diovan hct 325/12.5, amlodipine besylate 5mg, also started Ranexa 5 weeks ago 500mg twice a day (for angina). His bp now is 110/60 range but with the dizziness on Monday it was 84/52.  Would the nitro patch cause the diziness?  He is to wear the patch for 12 hours and take it off at bedtime. He has had 3 angioplasty's with a total of 7 stents in the last 7 months and he is also diabetic with good control. He is 56 years old and 5'10" 178 pounds. Thank you for your help!

A headache is an indication the medication is working, and is expected although I don't experience any side-effects.
Dizziness is/can be an indication of low blood pressure, and dizziness is a known side effect of a nitro patch and should subside as the body adjust to the medication.  If the condition persists or becomes bothersome, inform your husband's doctor

Yes nitro can cause dizziness. It makes me so light headed that I can't even stand up. The other side effect I have associated with that medication is thumping headaches, which makes migraines seem mild in comparison. Nitro forces the arteries to open up, not just specific arteries, but all of them. This causes a drop in blood pressure and the other medication most heart patients are on prevent the heart from beating harder to compensate. They do say that you get used to nitrates but I never did and have now been labelled as intolerant to them.
There are other medications which are supposed to be gentler. Nicorandil is commonly used in the UK.
