I saw the Cardiologist and he used the same pharse, help you live longer.
My BP on Metroprolol and Isosorbide hangs at 83/52 to 93/61, if Im not passing out or dizzy, the numbers are not important. Bottom line, its up to me.
When I went off the Isosobide the pressure in my chest and pain in arm were strong. I have changed up the times take the Meds to closer to bed time. I'm going to try and push through this. When I am awake I walk.
If all your blockages are solved, then the logical source of exhaustion are the BB.
As Ed pointed out the stents can handle the BP, however, due to the underneath disease, most Drs. prefer us to have low BP, we are suppose to live longer that way (??).
However a BP of 100/60 is not that low as to give you exhaustion (although we are all different).
Interesting is the fact that the main objective of BB it is not to low the BP but to reduce the heart rate.
Thank you, you have been very understanding and helpful. I'll keep posting
I think we are talking cross purposes here. I gathered your concern is lack of energy, not blood pressure issues. If your pressure was less than 100/60 then you had hypotension. I've never had my blood pressure lowered for the ten stents I've had, they are fully capable of handling pressure in the vessels.
Beta blockers are well known to cause lack of energy in many people, even a low dosage. There are other ways and more direct ways to lower blood pressure, such as ace inhibitors. I experienced beta blockers for 2 years and it took weeks to kind of adapt to them. When I came off them after 2 years, it felt like my heart was a horse released from a stable into the wild again. The difference in energy was incredible.
Hi, I wason three beta blokers last week and my BP was under 100/60 for several days. The cardiologist took me off two. I think the low pressure is important for the stents
Hi, two blockages both have stents. Metoprolol 25mg half every 12 hours.
Plavix, Aspirin and Zocor. Isee my D.O. today and Cardiologist on Monday.
I would discuss your beta blocker with your Doctor. Beta blockers can make you feel very lethargic especially if the dosage is too high.
Were all your blockages solved with the stent?
What medication are you in?
