Stress myocardiopathy

Hello,

Is it possible for arteries in your heart to constrict due to stress, and that way causing pain in your chest?
also I feel pain in my neck, especially along the sides.

I already went to a doctor two times, but they just go by statistics. They see my age (22) and they say, well it will go over. The thing is, I'm already a year under heavy emotional distress, and became depressed.
I also feel physical pain in my heart and neck.
I also experience anxiety and stress

I just know something isn't right with me, but I don't know what it is.

kind regards,
Mitch

You are very welcome!:)

Glad you called them! Good for you! 'Better be safe than sorry' ,this is how they say it here in North America. :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

hahah cool you went to Amsterdam! that's exactly where I live lol!

Thank you so much for you reply :)!
it makes me happy lol
I just called for an appointment, but I could not reach them for an appointment. The computer-voice said if I had an emergency press 1, or else wait until 2 pm to make a regular appointment.
that's strange isn't it :-s
Seriously, health-care over here s*cks.
Also I heard from others that you really must push if you want to get something done. The standard line for a doctor here is: "Hmm, come back in 2 weeks if it's not over."

Thank you for your reply again V :)

Hello again. I just now checked you are not American. Sorry about your health system is that lousy, you still must tell them, I mean tell to your family doctor, or regular doctor, that you do want to get  tests on your heart. Never mind what they think! Get yourself on that list. This is your right as all taxpayers, tell them.  Twice I was in Amsterdam, but only for  short time switching the airplanes . It was raining, I was told by locals, must come back when the tulips took over.:) I never  did.:(

Let us know what the doctor will say, until Take Care!

hey Vienna

Thank you so much for your reply, it confirms what I was suspecting. They only listened to my heart with a stethoscope, and said the valves and rhythm were fine. No ECG testing was done, nor any Blood tests were conducted.
They also asked me the question if it happened as I was exercising, which was not the case.So she thought it could not be angina due to clotted veins.

Thank you so much for your reply, I will ask for another appointment. Also I am afraid they will send me away again. I live in a very lazy country, where they do as little as possible. Do you by any chance have some advice on how to ask for a full testing?

If I just ask for it they will think I am cocky and if they think it's not necessary again, they won't help.
It's due to our failing health care system, with long waiting lists and lazy underpaid doctors. I am not from the U.S.

Thank you again for your advice,
Mitch

Hi Mitch,

Did they do any test or just said it will go away? Age doesn’t matter. You do need a full testing ECG etc in my opinion.
Good luck finding another Dr If not your present one, but who would listen!

Also be sure you take it easy, try to be positive, and concentrate the good things you have in your life!

Let us know!
