Surgery/chemo before year 1

What happens if I need to have surgery with a stent in my heart? I've heard about staying off Plavix but it hasn't been a year yet.
Also what happens if you develop cancer? Do you have to come off Plavix completely? What other medications need to be changed? I have a complex ovarian cyst that I'm waiting the results of an MRI on - although MRIs don't seem to be the best test for overian cancer. I haven't started menopause yet.

Thanks. I go into overdrive pretty easily.
But do drugs that improve your blood flow also help cancer tumors? I don't know where I got that theory but sounds plausible to me!

Barbari,

Relax,
normally the medication that you take for the heart do not has any effect over cancer. However, if you have cancer, before going into any chemotherapy, check with your cardiologist.

Regarding the surgery, also check with the cardiologist, the minimum time on plavix depends on the type of stent that was used. In any case you only will stop it for a few days before the intervention.

Good Luck,

Jesus
