Too fast Heartbeat

Hello all ,
I was diagnosed with Diabetes last year and  trying to control only with diet as it was only in Primary stages. However Lately I have observed  my heart beating so fast during a hard rally of squash game which almost leaves me breathless .In addition ,I also feel slight discomfort in my chest on the left side from time to time .Is this something abnormal ?I have checked my BP around this time which is pretty close to normal . Any ideas,Suggestions ?
Thanks .

Hello All ,
Have another question regarding my chest pain .Although I have been given clean bill of health but i continue to have mild pain in my ribs area right where the heart is .This pain comes and goes .I have been a heavy smoker for almost 8 years  and think that maybe there is a problem with my Vain .like blockage or some kind of damage ?
Any ideas ?

Hi All,
I dicovered about diabetes in Feb last year and A1C was 5.9 then .I had my A1C checked 3 times in the past year or so and it came out as 5.6 in April , 5.4 in Sep and  5.3 in November .I am not using any medication but there are times when my BS spikes . In addition I was also a smoker and now have quit .Think I will visit the Doctor.

How well are you controlling your blood sugar?  A1C %? As the above post points out you could be  exhibiting classic symptoms of an ischemic event and requires immediate checking into...At least an exercise stress test and perhaps  CTA Scan (CAT scan with dye).

You have mentioned three warnings of heart disease: Diabetes, breathlessness, and chest discomfort.  I'd suggest you contact your doctor and request a stress test.  If you check out ok, you will have a baseline to refer should you have issues later on.  If a problem is discovered, you can deal with it early on. It sounds like this a change in how you feel when exercising, and that is another warning.
