Veins Shrunken Over Time

Male, 67, 5'10, 185lbs, health, minor heart issues.

8 years ago, my veins were fine, easy to locate and stick. During that time, my veins have shrunken to a point where I'm an extremely hard stick. The phlebotomists hate to see me coming with my tiny veins.

My question is, is there a disease or condition that will cause your veins to shrink 80% in size over an 8 year period, or is it just genetics and age?  Can I assume if my arm veins have shrunken so much, have the internal veins and arteries supplying my vital organs also shrunken that much? If so, is there a danger of low oxygenation to my organs? Many thanks,,, Bob
