What could this be?? It's keeping me awake!!

I have this constant jumping sensation in my abdomen, where the aortic valve is located. It is drving me crazy. It won't relax & jumps continuously. My sleep is disturbed!!

I also have blood slivers under my nail beds. My Dr is testing me for RA, which is a familial thing with my family. She's scheduling me to be hooked up to a loop monitor. She is my new Dr; the old one was too far away, so I just recently got her as my family physician. Somehow I forgot to tell her about this annoying sensation, due to stress & exhaustion when I was there. My BP is also pretty low, at 96 over 64 & pulse is 63.

I am only 45, and try to eat well & stay active, but I am having a difficult time climbing stairs without dropping on my bed to lie down & catch my breath. My heart pounds in my ears when I climb the stairs & I feel faint.

Does anyone have any ideas what this is??

Thanks!

Dee

Thanks for the reply!

I have other symptoms, such as the bleeding under my nail bed. They look like little slivers of blood. They've been present for about 8 years now, almost continuously. I have never had a murmur detected before, but have had my heart checked a few years ago. My daughter is 18 & has a leaky valve, along with a murmur. She was born with hers & her first symptoms began at the age of 10 months. I wonder if that's hereditary?

Thanks again!!

Hi,

You should have a Physical with your doctor to dtermine if there is a cause for alarm.
She can tell by liste3ning to your heart if you have a murmur, shich coiuld be a mild regurgation of your arortic valve, (determine if it is a two leaflet valve) some peopl;e have this type. The heart valve is located in chest area, left side  above naval area. in most people.

Even with your history, you are not at risk  NOW for any real problem, but get it checked out!!  I have severe arortic stenosis, but no synmptons. My cardiiolgiist
advise me to wait until I get symptons, then take action.(Valve replacement) Good luck
