What do I expect after a stroke

Hi, I had a small stroke a week ago today.  I had some speech problems and problems with my left side but now every thing is good.

I immediately got up and tried to function normally but my hubby could tell that something was wrong.  I have passed out twice since then so I don't know if that was related to my stroke. I am 50 years old so. . . .

Thanks and I appreciate your response !

The bottom line is the bottom line...call the doc.  When people stroke out many times it is caused from clot issues .... the situation may very well be that you may be having some sort of block in the heart or brain and the solution would be very simple to take care of by a doctor.  Whenever anyone losses consciousness 911 needs to be called because if you don't get help quickly you may not recover...seriously do not ignore that symtom...call your doc and at fifty your chances for recovery and identification are pretty good but no one can help you if you play russian roulette and its not your lucky day....call the doc.................

firstly, don't be under the illusion that the size of the stroke is relevant, its more to do with the location. Recovery from strokes is very much improved over the years and it's understood now that the brain has a great ability to pass impaired functions to new areas of the brain to take over. However, the new area has to learn again, like a baby does. So the key is lots and lots of practice and patience. It will learn.
You need to establish the cause of your strokes and have the right meds. Have your carotid arteries been scanned?
