Worried

I will keep as short s I can. Was to have op for epigastric hernia about 4 months ago.. High blood pressure discovered. ECG done. LBB found. Just 2 days ago heart echocardiogram scan done. A smallish area about midway up RH side when viewed from front was \"shimmering\" still pumping but not as big contractions as rest of heart. Valves and all else ok. Blood pressure now 120 over 70 due to meds. Nuclear medicine type stress test scan to be done soon. Dr said as I am asymptomatic invasive test not needed unless result of new test shows a big issue. I am 65 and feel fine but now very scared. I smoke. Do you think it will be not too bad?

Thank you for that. As I said my BP is now 120/70 and I have no symptoms. No chest pain, no shortness of breath. I will have to wait until I am back in my home country of new Zealand for stress test as here in Philippines it costs a lot.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB) is an abnormal finding on the electrocardiogram that often indicates underlying heart disease. Since an abnormality of movement was detected in ECHO, your doctor has asked for a stress test to rule out ischemia.  Since you have high blood pressure, you should try to control this as much as possible with medication and lifestyle changes. This includes avoiding cigarettes, minimizing your salt and alcohol intake, getting regular aerobic exercise (after an OK from your doctor), and losing any excess body weight.

And Good Luck for the test.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
