My mother is suggested to undergo angiogram test since her test reports showed that she has "a small calcified nodule attached to PML tip prolapsing into LV". An echocardiogram is adequate to determine mitral valve insufficiency, the fault, degree of insufficiency, location, etc.

If there is going to be an interventional angiogram, iot seems then the procedure can repair of degenerative mitral insufficiency and has extensively been shown to be superior to replacement. In the majority of cases, the culprit lesion is limited to the posterior mitral leaflet (PML), which is treated with quadrangular resection of the prolapsing PML, annular plication of the corresponding segment of the annulus, and prosthetic annuloplasty.
