chest pain

I would like to know why I have had chest pain, that goes from one side of my chest to the other? and why is sometimes in the center of my chest too.

thank you for your reply.  When I have had drs press into my chest, it has always been tender.  I have not done any lifting.  The pain was on the left side, center, then right.  I struggle with anxiety, so thought that might be part of the problem.  I have a drs appt tomorrow.  I hate going to drs cause i feel as if they blow me off.

With those kind of symptoms, I think I would go to the ER and have any heart-related problems ruled out. That being said, it could also be chest wall strain, have you done any heavy lifting lately. Is the pain just in one spot? What I mean is, if you touch just area on your chest, does it hurt, or, is it wide spread. Usually, "spot" pains are not heart related.

Anyway, please have this looked into as soon as possible, hopefully, it is nothing, but, it is always better to safe than sorry.
