I have always suffocation and sometimes chest pain during whole day. When I lay down, when I walk, standing, doing exercises. When I sleep I almost forget about that. When I wake up after few minutes is coming. The heart beating is stable; I don’t have any palpitations, arrhythmias or short breathing. I’m afraid that I have angina but at least one test should show some abnormality. My father died from heart attack when he was 62 age old. Before that he had angina pectoris. And I’m afraid that I’m going on that way. But for him, his angina was detected on normal ECG procedure. No one did him CT Angiscan. As I read on forums, the signs for stable, unstable and variant angina generally the symptoms are coming and going and are not persistent all the time like mine.
Regarding gallbladder I'm suspecting that there must something with that. Last year in September, when this heart issues started, one night I had very strong pain on the right side on body. It lasted 15-20min, I took a lot of water and it was gone. I thought that could be heart attack but the latest examinations did not mentioned nothing. I was suspecting that this heart problems can be triggered by liver or gallbladder and 6 weeks ago I did liver cleanse following the method of Andreas Moritz. There were some stones after that the filling was amazing, I was like new born but the suffocations did not stopped. Andrea recommends at least 6 liver cleaning in order to get results. I wanted to do the same this week but I was to much stressed, having some panic attacks that I'm sick, I have angina and I will die soon. I went to the doctor who gave me antidepresive against Anxiety and Panic Atacs and 30 days off from the work. Now I will try to relax, take the pills and visit my doctor again in two weeks.
For CT AngioScan, I'm not big fan, it is 160 times more radiation then regular chest x-ray but if the symptoms persist I'll be forced to do it.
Feeling suffocated when lying down can be a symptom of a pulmonary problem. COPD patients complain about this a lot. Most have to sleep almost upright to be able to breathe. I know when I am ill with bronchitis and when I had pneumonia I had to sleep with several pillows behind me so that I was in a sitting position in bed in order to breathe. And there is chest pain with these. Have you had any pulmonary work ups?
If you're still having pain, you need to find the cause. I would doubt that the CT will find anything given your results, but if that's what your cardiologist thinks is best I would do it. On a side note, has anyone considered a gallbladder issue? It can mimic the pain of heart disease, just something to ask about.
