I had a quad bypass and developed a horrible painful tooth cavity two weeks later. My cardiologist told me it would be best if I waited a while, but since I was in so much pain I had to see the dentist. Everthing went fine so it is possible to see your dentist if absolutely necessary. But I've never heard of any long term impact of the dental visit having anything to do with the bypass or stents
Thanks a lot for your response.

I had a tooth pulled and not necessary to stop anti=platelet medication from any medical didn't perspective. I was told to bite down on a tea bag.
A filling does not cause excessive bleeding and so it will not cause a problem with your medication. It definitely will not have any effect on your stent either because the coronary arteries are a long way from the teeth.
I had to have a tooth extracted and that involves bleeding and the requirement to form a
clot. I had to stop my aspirin/plavix for 24hrs prior to the procedure and 24hrs post.
