Are you saying your are in permanent/constant atrial fibrillation?

In my case drugs have never converted me, but the mentioned electrocardioversions have - but only temporarily...some times for 18 monts but never longer.

When in AFib, like now, beta blocker plus calcium channel blocker work to control my Heart Rate, but do not stop the irregular pulse due to a "stray" pump signal from the atrium fibs.

Do you experience troublesome high HR even when taking beta blockers? I guess some people do, but most find BB do lower the HR, and sometimes lower the blood pressure too much, give one didn't also have high blood pressure.

Hi, for symptomatic, drug-refractory atrial fibrillation, cardioversion helps restore the rhythm. Electrical cardioversion is effective in restoring sinus rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) in >90% of patients, but recurrence of AF is known to occur. For this ablation or implantable atrial defibrillators have been proven to give long term results. Please discuss these options with your consulting doctor. Regards.
