heart issues with bulimia history?

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone on this forum has a history with bulimia and might attribute your heart problems to bulimic activity? I've started experiencing PVC's and NSVT about 1 year ago, and had a 10-year history with bulimia during my teen/college years. I've stopped for over 5 years now, but am wondering if it's possible that I damaged my heart in some way. I can't find any specifics about this online - just that bulimia can eventually lead to heart damage & arrhythmias. If anyone has any experience in this area, please let me know!
thanks,
Jen

I was balimic for about 6 years. 17 to about 23. When I was 21 I almost died from lack of potasium. Potassium  is what regulates your heart. If that depletes you can die. One night, I just collapsed. My husband, boyfriend at the time, took me to the e.r. I was on life support for three days and a heart monitor floor for seven days after that. They told my husband that an hour later I would have died.
I am 55 now. Have been cured of bulimia for many years. I had an e.k g. I have bradycardia, which is a slow heart rate. I also have carnet angina, which can't be detected from an e.k.g. It is severely painful and causes both of my arms to feel like they are on fire. I have nitro that I have to put under my tongue to stop it. But I suspect one day it won't work. Anyway, I know theres a lot of other things that can be damaged by bulimia as well, but my damage is in my heart. Good luck, and take care of yourself.
