Lopid is prescribed after other therapies have failed, and it is not intended for treating patients who only have low HDL.  The interaction of lopid with other heart related medication may be an issue as well so it is not an issue that can be answered without knowledge of your health history, other medications, etc. and your condition may call for a specific treatment for CAD...if combined with a blood thinneer can cause excessive bleeding, etc.  Trust your doctor, but it is always a good idea to verify in the event there is some misunderstanding.

Thanks for your question and if you have any other questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take care

This is really a question for your Doctor because Lopid can interfere with other medications which you may be taking, such as statins or blood pressure medication. It can also have side effects if you are diabetic. Your Doctor knows far more about your condition and can professionally make an opinion.
