i have extreme sharp pains in my chest

I have extreme sharp pains in the left side of my chest (most of the time when i lay on my left side), which seems to be coming from my heart. It happens the most when i lay down it just started about 3 weeks ago and ever since then  my chest has been sore, i cant seem to catch my breath and I'm always tired. I am worried because i do have a irregular heartbeat and regurgitation. I am overweight and i do smoke (unfortunately). What should I do, and what is do you think it could be. Please help because i dont want to go to the hospital if it isn't major because i don't have the money. I really appreciate you guys taken the time out to read this thanks so much, Mirissa

For some insight: A sharp pain that worsens when the person lies down or breathes deeply, decreases when the person sits up and leans forward, and is not related to physical activity suggests pericarditis. Pain increased by inhaling deeply can also be caused by pleuritis. A sudden sharp, excruciating pain in the back of the neck, between the shoulder blades, down the back, or in the abdomen that begins fairly quickly may be due to an aortic dissection.

You should see a doctor and your condition evluated should be your concern. It could be serious and immediate treatment can be effective and waiting, if serious, it can become an irreversal condition compounding your problems
