pain after bypass surgery

A friend of mine 53 years old just went through a triple bypass a couple months ago   he is now telling me he feels as if his chest hairs are being pulled out ... horrible pain
Can you tell me what this is and if there are any ways to alleviate the pain ?
thanks so much

There could be inflammation of the sternum...the cage is wired together at the sternum and sometimes the wires cause a problem as well.  Should contact the doctor.  Hope that helps.
