should i check the health of the stent?

Five years back i had  angioplasty and two big stents were implanted in my Left Anterior Descending artery. Since then i am living very healthy life. Yesterday i took part in 1.5 Km running race in which i could easily complete  it. How should i check if the stent is OK or not?

Being short of breath through exercise is a good thing, you are truly exercising the cardiovascular system. To be short of breath with chest pain or throat discomfort is a different matter. I don't think people realise how lucky they are to be able to pant for breath and not have discomfort :)

Hi Thanks ed34
This is a good news. I really ran 1.5 KM of course i did get tired afterwards and took me sometime to stabilize my breath. The stents have been there since past 5 years. That means now it will not get blocked.

if the stents were not fine, I very much doubt if you could easily run 1.5km. It is far more common for stents to block in the first few weeks of insertion, and not years later.
