Not really long.  Just a lot of trying one thing or the other.  Felt like I was in the doctor's office every week.  And then recently being diagnosed with vasospasms, the same thing.  I still have a full bottle of a calcium channel blocker that costs so much.  Can't take it back.  My doctor tries to start me off with a sample pack to see how I do.  But he doesn't always have it. Now that I have the right dose of the Metoprolol I can't seem to do without it.  I feel worse if I don't take it.  I have made the mistake of running out, and then would have to leave work to get them filled.  If the 25mg is making him feel that bad, he may want to ask them to try him on another beta blocker all together.  It won't take long once he gets the right med and at the right dose.  Take care and keep me posted.  Ally

Ally saw heart nurse and dialysis nurse, one says "no it is not the beta blocker" the kidney nurse is changing his kidney regime because she says it could be draining to much fluid from him making him have headaches and what ever. Still struggling, he should be feeling much better by now but he is not. I will keep in touch, thanks for answering.

Thanks for that,Ally,  husband takes 50mg a day  half in a morning and half in the evening. It is giving him headaches, making him feel sick, tired and no appetite, will be seeing heart nurse Monday, I will see what she says. I think they have enough to put up with having the heart attack with out drugs that make you feel worse. Did it take you long to get used to them.

Yes, sadly that is true.  There is a 25mg tablet.  It took some trial and error before they could find a dose that was right for me.  He may have to do the same thing.  I take 50mg  3 times a day rather than taking a 100mg tab in the morning.  I would almost nod off when driving.  Have him talk to his doctor about changing his dose, breaking down the dose over the course of the day or maybe even changing the med to some other.  Take care, Ally
