Hi. Thanks for responding. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. What helps you deal with them the most? I have ativan, but only take it when they are really bad. I too have mitro valve prolapse and a murmur, but not significant at all. Yeah, I understand about the quality of life thing, I have kids and when the flops start, I have to sit down and relax and that's hard to do with my little ones. Maybe I need to exercise more.
Yes, I experience them too. Mine started almost 3 years ago however. I went on medication and got off of meds. last January. They are the worst thing I have experienced....so far. They are very, VERY scary to say the least. My skips get bad around my cycle and after. They used to be SO bad that my quality of life was nada. I lost tons of weight and walked like an old lady (no disrespect to my seniors out there)! Now I am able to deal with them much better, but it does increase my anxiety. I JUST found out Monday that I have a mild leaky valve. Apparently I have had this since my first or second echo but nobody mentioned it to me-imagine that. The doctor told me it was becuase it was so insignificant; however, she wants me to come back next fall to make sure it hasn't gotten worse. If it's not one thing it's another.
So.....try your best to think positive. During times of stress and anxiety you may need to take something. I have Xanax in my purse but haven't taken it in a year. But it's there if I need it.
