using bubble trap if having IV

Hello,
I was wondering if others have been told to make sure there is a bubble trap if you need an IV.  I have a small hole in my heart and was told this.  Tomorrow I am having an IVIG and there is not a bubble trap available.  I don't know if i should go ahead with it or not.

I agree, better to take the precautions than the risk. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for your response.  I'm not sure it's the same thing.  I ended up cancelling for today and the hospital is going to order the trap.  The nurse was glad I cancelled, why take the chance. Thanks again.

Never heard of a bubble trap. My Mom went in for a back surgery recently and her IV machinery had an alarm on it. It started beeping and the nurse came in. Apparently the machine senses when there's a little bubble and will shut down until someone fixes it. Is that the same thing?
