Heart Palpitations at Age 18

hello ...my name is vivek..rightnow 19 yr old..and I've been having random rapid heart beats that occur every so often...at the age of 18..dated 7-7-2008...after playing football...my heart beat started beating very fast..n it never stopped....then i consulted some doctor...he admitted me in ICU that night...n made it normal within 3 hr....
after that on date 8-8-2008....after playing basketball in college i again got fast palpitation above 200 and it was not stopping....then i again got admitted in hospital and my RFA(RADIO FREQUENCY AFBLATION) AND EPS test was done...small operation type....after that m normal...
but i feels some palpitation 4 to 5 times a day when i suddenly get up after sitting a lot or resting up.....i feel it very fast ..but it get normal within 3 to 4 minutes..
so m question is that...is it normal..??
or i should consult doctor..??
and why this happening??
m pure -vegeterian...never drank tea or coffie in my whole life....even i didnot eat much junk food...
just suggest me what to do...!!

You may be having postural hypotensive episodes and the heart is compensating by beating harder to pump efficiently.  Also, please get your blood work done to see if you may be anemic, since lot of vegetarian diets miss adequate iron.  Anemia can cause palpitations as well.  With your history of ablation surgery, it would be wisest to call your doctor about any new symptoms of heart.  Good luck!

It would be a good idea to discuss with your doctor relative to the past treatment you have had, and in general.

You didn't give a number for what your resting HR is and what it changes to when you get up from resting.  I'd say if the numbers were something like 65 and 80, I'd not think much about it.  But if 65 (just a number) and 130+ I'd be concerned and want to get it checked.
