RePost please reply

hi. ive made several posts about this issue but have a couple of new questions.  within past two years ive had stress echo holter.  all normal.  i have not excersised for months out of fear.  i do have panic and anxiety disorder but have it under control for the moment.  i usually only get them once a day.  they last for about 10 minutes.  mainly when im laying down. does not matter what side i lay on.  i feel the skip in my pulse.  feel the flutter in chest.  usually like one regular beat flutter/ skip regular beat.  couple of seconds or minutes pass then repeat.  during the skip i feel like my blood pressure raises for a moment and heart pumps harder.  then afterwards i get sweaty palms and feet. ( i think its after effect anxiety.)  my mother had hyperthyroidism and im wondering if the skips or flutters could be from hyperthyroidism.  im really wanting to excersise as i love being active.  prior to the past five months i was running 12-15 miles a week and lifting weights.  i trully doubt a cardiac problem.  my holter showed fine but they still freak me out.  im getting a event monitor on monday if i can convince my cardiologist as he says they are benign and go on with life.  also i noticed that i usually get them when bein tired after a 10 hr work shift.  ( i work nights).  thank you all

If all your previous exams show no heart disease then yes they are benign and you can test all you want and the results should be the same.  Once you develop your old routine your anxiety should abate.  It took me a awhile to "ignore" them.

"You get episodes of palpitations once a day that last for ten minutes."  Lucky you!
Slowly start exercising/running again.  Once you gain confidence that these activities will not provoke palpitations then you can begin to return to your normal routine. The check for  Hypothroidism is a quick blood test and symptoms of it don't occur every day for ten minutes.  Your looking for problems that don't exist.

The hyperthroidism is something that should be checked, especially when you're having skipped beats, etc.  I have hypothryoidism and when my supplement is too high, I will get more arrythmias.  Even if they are benign, the anxiety can cause a multitude of problems and limit you in your activities.  I get an adrenaline rush from the arrythmia, then tachacardia (fast beats).  It can take on a  life of it's own.  sometimes you can slow it down with brething techniques, or stress reduction exercises.  The panic in my case is a byproduct of the "benign" heart condition.  I too, am missing being able to exercise for fear of bringing on an attack.  I take Atenolol and Xanax and am now on Coumadin.  Good luck.
