Mitral Prolapse

I have episodes that are hard to describe. This does not happen often, but its very scary when it does. I feel as if I am going to pass out sometimes. Everything goes black,,I can`t seem to see when this happens. I almost passed out behind the wheel this morning. Is this whole seeing black thing common with a Mitral Prolapse Valve,or should I be looking in other areas for an answer to this?

I have been under the care of a Cardiologist of course. He has no explanation. He suggested that I see an Electrophysiologist,Table Tilt testing etc.. Does anyone have any idea what can cause what I described, outside of heart related?

I was diagnosed with MVP back in the 70's and I have never had the feeling that you describe. I would have it ch'ed out further.

You clearly need to discuss with a primary care doctor, then if the heart seems to be the cause, see a cardiologist.  I put the doctors in this order because I do not think Mitral Valve Prolapse would cause the problem you describe.
