I took Bystolic for 4 days and didn't sleep for four nights!
I had been on another beta blocker, Atenolol.
This med also made me unable to sleep plus I had tightness in my chest and body aches.
I am currantly on a water pill that has lowered my blood pressure. My doctor insists I also need a beta blocker.
Doc took me off Bystolic yesterday..I slept through the night!

Bystolic is the only HBP med so far that doesn't give me severe nasal congestion. It takes getting used to. Insomnia and restless sleep was a problem. I took valerian and threanine and sleep pretty good. Tiredness was really bad at first, but got better. BP has not gone down low enough. I was at 175/100 at times. Now at 145-155/85-90. I need to do better with exercise and diet! Goodluck on Bystolic!
I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Just curious if anyone who is taking bystolic experiences side effects all the time, or if it is a gradual onset after dosing, or what? My side effects always seem to hit me in the late afternoon, early evening. I take my dose anytime between 6am and 7am.
I've been on Bystolic for 5 year's, I had a EKG that showed one Artery was partially blocked from " Stress" I get a tightness in my Pectoral muscle and the Bystolic stops it, I'm very Grateful for Bystolic, Hope you find something that helps you! Take Good Care!
Sorry post wouldn't let me erase #39? Strange!
I've been prescribed the lowest dose (the blue pill), and have had no side effects. This is the first BP medication I have ever taken that did not give me a ton of evil side effects. I think it's pretty sweet!
