Anyone suffer with POTS or IST?

I am currently undergoing tests to find a diagnosis for my condition. The doctors have mention Pots and IST. I would love to hear from anyone who suffers from these conditions or anyone who suffers from my symptoms.... Resting pulse has suddenly increased from 65 bpm to 85 bpm, pulse increases dramatically when standing or walking and goes up to 140-150 with very mild exertion, breathlessness, dizziness. All comments appreciated. Thank you

I'm 28 now, but my IST started when I was 24. I had had PVC's (skipped beats) before the IST so it was nothing new to me. The main difference was before I'd usually get them 30-60 minutes after physical activity where as when the IST started I started getting them during physical activity which is very unpleasant. As far as strings go. It's really different for everyone. I've had Bigeminy (pvc every other beat), trigemny (pvc every third beat), and couplets (two pvcs in a row). They are nothing to worry about. Some people are in almost in constant bigeminy or trigemny and they are fine. Everyone is different and experiences them in their own way. The most I'd get in a day is 100, but I was aware of every single one. Some people get thousands, but are unaware of them. This is of no consequence as they are just as benign in every instance in a healthy heart. When I say healthy heart I mean someone who isn't suffering from moderate to severe heart disease. IST is not heart disease just in case your mind was wondering that direction.

Back to the IST. Go get a POTS tests although this is more unlikely as adult onset is more unlikely if I remember correctly. I had one done as well and I showed minor signs of POTS, but no where near enough to diagnose as POTS. I'm not sure if this is common in IST or not. My main recommendation to you is to try some beta blockers and see how you respond to them. Some people with IST see great improvement with beta blockers while others don't see any improvement. If the first doesn't work don't get discouraged. Try some more. I was put on a betablocker (bisoprolol) that actually made my IST worse if you can believe it. While aonther betablocker (atenolol) has helped my condition tremulously. So there might be some trial and error.

Also don't stop exercising. If the doctors have OK'd you than continue to exercise, or start exercising if you haven't been. As it does make a difference. When i first developed IST It made exercise very difficult so I stopped, but after a while I noticed the condition worsened because of the lack of exercise. After resuming exercise I saw improvement again.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'm finding the whole thing so scary at the moment. It all came on so suddenly. One minute I was completely fine and the next thing I knew I was feeling like I'd been hit with a virus. I remember saying to my husband..'I think I'm coming down with something, but I haven't got a fever!'. I'm finding the skipped beats really scary , especially when they come several times in a minute. Did yours come on suddenly? Do you ind me asking your ages. I am 32 and just feel too young to be feeling how I'm feeling. I also have three children under 8 to take care of and I'm finding it a complete struggle. Thanks again for your comments.

IST sufferer here. Slow walks would send my heart rate up around 150 easily, and I used to be very athletic so this was very unlike me. Suddenly a 2 minute jog would send my heart rate up to 190, where as it used to be no higher than 140 even after half an hour unless I started to push. I too got dizziness and breathlessness. That's just what happens with IST. Luckily I respond well to betablockers so a small dose keeps mine pretty controlled unless I try exercising.

I do it ***** I usually go from 40 to 160 back to 40 I get some weird feelings when it happens I also have nuerocardiogentic near syn scope. All positive on tilt table so they know what it is but there's nothing they can really do as of yet for it. They say stay hydrated it seems to help a little best thing I found was not to stay still to long or it gets worse get up every twenty or stretch something the longer I sit the worse it is getting up. The longer I stand in one spot the worse my head hurts. Good luck and I'm interested in if they do anything for you.
