I am often dehydrated. I also have elevated blood calcium. Last year I had atrial fibrillation.
Listen to Jerry....listen to Jerry....yep dehydration causes an interuption big time w. our hearts...our interior organs become dehyrated and our organs tend to react to that because they are dry..we want them to stay pink and healthy and moist......there is alot written about this everywhere and i know that one of the times before i had my ablation done my doc loaded me with an IV and saturated my system w. the IV full of fluids....that is one of the first things that are done to us if we end up in the E,R. w. atrial fib...and believe it or not it usually calms the episode down......
Dehydration can cause heart rhythm problems... perhaps an AFib episode, but I'd think that would pass. I don't believe dehydration has ever been associated as a "cause" of AFib.
Many of us are dehydrated to some degree most of the time and most of us do not have AFib.
Be healthy, drink several glasses of water a day... and especially if doing anything that causes you to sweat.
