I have to say I had the same problem with Ciprofloxacin. It made my heart palps worse and also made me seriously dizzy. So much so that when stopping my car and getting out it felt like I was still driving. I took 3 days of a 5 day course and on doctors advice was told to stop.

If they offer you Nitrofur-C after that then please be careful as I had a lung reaction to it and couldn't stop coughing.

Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there. :)

Can't say that Cipro affected my PVCs, but that might have been because I was distracted by the painful tendinitis it gave me.  Cipro is one of the fluoroquinolone antibiotics, and while they have their uses, they are associated with tendon inflammation and rupture in a certain percentage of patients.  I am one of those.  Although I did not experience a rupture, both biceps tendons and the supraspinatus were so inflamed for a year--even with physical therapy and rest--that my activities were pretty limited.

I have taken cipro a lot too and it hasn't bothered me before.  But I recently took it and after 1 dose my heart started acting weird.  Any antibiotic of that class can cause heart palpitations. Unfortunately, most of the antibiotics I can take have that potential side effect, I'm allergic to penicillin.
