It really doesn't matter what time you take it each day but you have to take it at the same time daily for max. results.....each day at say 8 a.m. or each day at noon or whatever but for it to be most effective it should be taken daily at the same time. As far as the length of time it works in your system on an average inderal lifespan should be between 10 and 12 hours and once you've been on them for awhile your system is protected and the span levels out so you have it in your system period. Good luck to you.......
Hey guys thanks for the replys
I seen a cardio few weeks ago, had tests etc and holtor monitor picked up pac's and pvc's.. He prescribed me bispodlol (sp) I went to see my gp this morning because of my mental state with these, and i have other problems going on, he prescribed me inderal instead.. he insisted 40mg, made me a little angry as he kept saying anxiety is causing my palpitations.. but it's the other way round.. so insisted on me taking 40 mg, i spoke to the pharmacist and i can cut them in half, but he was busy so couldnt ask other questions..
What time of the day is the best time to take the inderal? What is the short life? (like diazipam, has a life of 24 hrs in your system, if i took 2mg today i will have 1mg in me tommorrow etc)...
Am just so worried of the affects the inderal will have on me.. I will defo cut it in half, and defo take it, but at what time... ? And how long does the affects last for?
Thanks again
Inderal is considered one of the long term beta blockers....i was on it for about a year years ago and my doc made the decision to take me off of it because as the two gentlemen that posted said its in the heavier BB family. I found myself getting very tired while i was on it but no dizziness so i opted out. Was this a heart doc you saw?
I've taken 40mg of inderal before for palps, It was easy, and I'm a bit leery of meds.
If you want to try it out, cut the pull in half. If it's an extended release tab (XR), you might break some of the buffering by doing that, but 20mg of inderal straight up is not that big of a deal. Look on the bottle to make sure it can be halved, if unsure call your pharmacist.
I have no experience with inderal, but I do know it is a beta blocker, with which I do have extensive experience.
I think the most likely noticeable side effects are fatigue/tiredness and some possible dizziness. If these occur they are due at least in part to the lower blood pressure - of course if one has high blood pressure the dizziness most likely would not occur, I believe.
In my experience these side effect occur only at high dose levels, for me an Metoprolol (I do not know the dose equivalence to inderal) is over 100 mg. When I was started on 50 mg I did not have any side effects that I noticed.
Take the prescribed medication is my view, and be calm, don't think about side effects. Still, be careful and don't jump up from a restful position and run down the stairs to the door bell, or the like. It is possible that you can get dizzy from sudden changes in activity levels. Learn what happens slowly.
You shouldn't have any problems - stop worrying.
