Fish Oil and Toprol

Hello, everyone! I am new to the board, but I have a question... does anyone know if 3 or 4 grams of Fish Oil per day plus 50 mg of Toprol would cause my heart rate to bottom out even more? I think I read somewhere where fish oil can enhance the effects of toprol. Lately, I have been having bradycardia issues, specifically in the evening time. My pulse is usually between 48 and 52 beats per minute... which is a bit low for me. I am taking the medicine for hypertension... but since heart disease runs in my family and fish oil has some pretty good evidence behind it, I thought I would take it 2. Any comments, suggestions?

Actually, I think I have reasoned this long, but I do appreciate the response SassyLassie! My doc actually upped my fluoxetine for my panic disorder, which has been proven to inhibit metoprolol metabolism, thus contributing to perhaps the higher plasma blood levels and accompany bradycardia. In fact, there a few clinical cases I have just read on this topic, yet my doctor didn't warn me? Come to think of it, it clearly said on the sheet that I got after I picked up my prescription to not use with fluoxetine!

I have not heard that before. Fish oil is basically a food, and a very good one I might add, I take it twice a day. I would not think it would be the cause of what you mentioned.
