Talk over how to get of of Flec, you may need to tapper of, or maybe cold turkey. Get the doctor to tell you.
Rhymthol is a "softer" drug, but may be worth a try. What is the EP trying to accomplish? It could be to improve your quality of life (fewer/no PACs) or it may be to protect against something worse.
I've taken Rhythmol (at a high dose level) for AFib, it didn't stop the AFib. I no longer take an anti-arrhythmic drug, just beta blocker and calcium channel blocker to lower my ventricle response to the AFib, which is permanent. My doctors say while the AFib raises risks, they advice I should live with it. They in effect don't think an ablation will effect a cure. I have had a mini-maze, which didn't stop the AFib (will it did for about 30 days).
Don't go cold turkey! Get advice from your doctor. The anti-arrythmics are nothing to fool around with, unlike the beta blockers which are much more benign.
I have been on Norpace XR for Afib since April 2011. Yes, I am tired of all of it, but my goal is to stay out of the hospital and feel better. I was in twice in 3-1/2 months for Afib and don't want to go there again. So far, I still have some pacs, but no Afib that is sustained. I'm still working on the feeling better part.
