Flecainide and PACS

Been a long time sufferer of Pacs, have been on toprol and atenolol but those only made me sluggish and now have been on flecainide for 2 years and still no positive results. Still having pacs everyday and am thinking of just getting off it cold turkey...anyone ever done that before??? My EP suggested taking rythmol and i am refusing to take anymore antiarrtyhmic medications. Frankly i am just sick of all of them...anyone in the same boat as me?? Also, is anyone out there taking any holistic medication to control their rhytm problems???

Talk over how to get of of Flec, you may need to tapper of, or maybe cold turkey.  Get the doctor to tell you.

Rhymthol is a "softer" drug, but may be worth a try.  What is the EP trying to accomplish? It could be to improve your quality of life (fewer/no PACs) or it may be to protect against something worse.

I've taken Rhythmol (at a high dose level) for AFib, it didn't stop the AFib.  I no longer take an anti-arrhythmic drug, just beta blocker and calcium channel blocker to lower my ventricle response to the AFib, which is permanent. My doctors say while the AFib raises risks, they advice I should live with it.  They in effect don't think an ablation will effect a cure.  I have had a mini-maze, which didn't stop the AFib (will it did for about 30 days).

Don't go cold turkey!  Get advice from your doctor.  The anti-arrythmics are nothing to fool around with, unlike the beta blockers which are much more benign.

I have been on Norpace XR for Afib since April 2011.  Yes, I am tired of all of it, but my goal is to stay out of the hospital and feel better.  I was in twice in 3-1/2 months for Afib and don't want to go there again.  So far, I still have some pacs, but no Afib that is sustained.  I'm still working on the feeling better part.
