Heart stop for 4sec night time. Dangerous or not?

Hi,

I am 36 and had a 24 hours electrocardiogram after a few panic attacks. I have been on high anxiety for the last 6 months.

The cardiologist told me that my heart stops a few times a night for an average of 4 seconds. He listened to my heart and told me that otherwise my heart is in good shape. He will do further test to confirm that. He said I should not worry for now but I might need a pacemaker.

Since that time the night panic attacks are back. That makes me anxious and I get light headed with palpitations.

I red about sudden death and that scares me. Am I right to be worry?

I heard him right. He even showed me the report. He said if it was day time and I would feel really daisy or loose cautious. He told me to be careful when I am driving.

Sleep apnea? My wife never heard me shocking when I am sleeping. How can I be diagnosed?

Thanks

Have you been ever diagnosed with sleep apnea?  I've never even heard of someones heart stopping for 4 seconds while sleeping. Strange.  Are you sure you heard him right?  I'm sure if it was cause for concern that your cardiologist would have kept you for observation.  Quit reading things that scare you. :)  I have nocturnal panic as well, and I wake up only to find myself pacing the floors along with my heart for no reason.  Good Luck,..
