My husbands rate on our monitoring system  Intellisense   was 176 / 123; anyone know if these little machines work well?  is 173/123 a "go to the hospital now" rate

p.s., the guidelines on the lower number (diastolic) is that anything > 110 is classified as hypertensive crisis (emergency care needed).

is that rate or blood pressure?

If it's blood pressure, and it's accurate (I have no idea if the machine you're using is accurate or if you took it accurately), then yes get to the ER.

If that is rate, I'm not familiar with the notation, call your doctor.
